Family Stiffs Restaurant Server On $100 Bill Because They ‘Did Not Agree With Her Lifestyle’

Just weeks after a 20-year-old gay waiter was denied a tip at a Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurant by a Christian couple because of his sexual orientation, comes news that a similar incident occurred in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

This time, a family with two children stiffed a waitress at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, NJ, leaving no tip on a $93.55 bill. The waitress, identified as Dayna M., sent a photo of the receipt to Have A Gay Day‘s Facebook page, which had a hand-written note on the receipt presumably written by the family. The note read: “sorry I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle & the way you live your life.”

Dayna, a former U.S. Marine, wrote to Have a Gay Day, detailing her encounter with the bigoted family:

NEVER in a million years did I think this would happen. Not only was it a family with two kids, but as I introduce myself and tell them my name is Dayna – the mom proceeds to look at me and say “oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan. You sure surprised us!”

I am THOROUGHLY offended mad pissed off and hurt that THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free. Sorry lady but I don’t agree with YOUR lifestyle and the way you’re raising your kids but you didn’t see me throwing that in your face and giving you shitty service. Keep your damn mouth shut and pray we never cross paths again.

If you happen to be in the Bridgewater, New Jersey area, come by and see Dayna at Gallop Asian Bistro!

Dayna later thanked everyone for their kind words and support: “you all have put the BIGGEST smile on my face tonight and made me realize that there are more good people in the world than bad.

The family sure didn’t have a problem with her sexuality when she brought their food to the table. These people are pricks!

I get offended when people use the word lifestyle. This isn’t a lifestyle, this was the way I was born. It was a lifestyle when I was pretending I was straight. Now that was a choice! I’m sick of the blatant disregard in common courtesy!

I would like to out at no time did these family identify themselves as Christians and we are making assumptions that make us no better than these parents did. They may have not agreed with the lifestyle but all that says is they are homophobic not Christians? I have known a lot of kids thrown out in the streets when their atheist parents found out they were Gay, so let’s step back and not jump on a whole religious group just based on an assumption… I am a Christian and would NEVER EVER do this to anyone period and any other “real” Christian would never do this..Don’t judge all people based on a persons perverted interpretation of what is truly is to be a true follower of Christ. I love everyone and don’t judge anyone and am close friends with plenty of gay and lesbian people as well as some in my own family, I hope people don’t rush to judgment based on what.who you might think did this to her.. Thanks for listening!

I agree, I am a Christian and I would never think it was okay to be this hateful to a person. God promotes love and compassion, not hate and selfishness. This greedy individual was looking for a reason to save a dollar.

I’m in Australia, and I have not yet visited America. Tipping is one of those strange American customs, like your gun fetis
