A popular British drag queen gave an incredible operatic performance on last night’s episode of The Voice UK, giving judges a big surprise when they finally turned to see who was actually singing.
Manchester drag queen Divina De Campo, aka Owen Farrow, delivered an impressive rendition of “Poor Wandering One” by Gilbert and Sullivan from “The Pirates of Penzance.” Sadly, none of the four judges turned their seats around for Divina.
“I don’t think there’s been anybody on The Voice so far that’s quite like this,” Divina told Metro. “There’s still a misconception that drag queens don’t sing or they can’t or they shouldn’t – but hopefully that’s not what people will say about me.”
Boy George took to Twitter to express his disappointment in himself for not turning his seat.
So should have turned for Davina! I'm gutted! https://t.co/tRS9EWvN7b
