As we prepare to ring in the new year, we would like to take a moment and make a wish to never see or hear from the following douchebags who have helped make our world a worst place to live in thanks to their sick and evil rhetoric.
1. Donald Trump (and his supporters)
If there is one person we would like to see disappear forever and ever, we would like it to be Donald Trump.
When he is not busy mocking the physically handicapped, he is busy attacking Megyn Kelly who was bleeding “out of her wherever” or Mexicans, who are basically all rapist and criminals (“and some I assume are good people” ~Trump) and who can forget Muslims, who Donald thinks should be tracked in a national database. The list goes on and on.
2. Kim Davis (and Mike Huckabee)
Despite her three divorces, Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis anointed herself the moral authority on marriage and love when she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, defying a U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriages nationwide.
Davis decided to cease issuing marriage licenses to all couples in order to prevent same-sex couples from marrying.
She was subsequently arrested and later hailed as a martyr by GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who paraded the lawbreaker outside the jail to a large crowd of her supporters. Oh yeah, the pope also met with her. Davis is still the county clerk of Rowan County.
3. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia
We all know U.S. Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia as the grumpy homophobic justice who was not at all pleased to see same-sex marriage become the law of the land in 2015. A preview of his anti-gay views can be seen in his dissent in Lawrence, where Scalia argued that moral objections to homosexuality were sufficient justification for criminalizing gay sex. “Many Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual conduct as partners in their business, as scoutmasters for their children, as teachers in their children’s schools, or as boarders in their home,” he wrote. “They view this as protecting themselves and their families from a lifestyle that they believe to be immoral and destructive.”
Scalia also let his racist flag fly recently, when he basically implied that black people are stupid. Here is the full quote:
“There are…those who contend that it does not benefit African Americans to get them into the University of Texas where they do not do well, as opposed to having slower-track school where they do well. One of — one of the briefs pointed out that — that most of the — most of the black scientists in this country don’t come from schools like the University of Texas…They come from lesser schools where they do not feel that they’re – that they’re being pushed ahead in — in classes that are too — too fast for them…I’m just not impressed by the fact that — that the University of Texas may have fewer. Maybe it ought to have fewer. And maybe some — you know, when you take more, the number of blacks, really competent blacks admitted to lesser schools, turns out to be less. And — and I — I don’t think it — it — it stands to reason that it’s a good thing for the University of Texas to admit as many blacks as possible.”
4. Homophobic Televangelist Pat Robertson
The king of bad advice, Televangelist Pat Robertson, had another busy year spewing his useless, homophobic rants over the airwaves.
This year, Pat suggested that gays can turn straight if they ‘start acting like men’, he asked gay men to show him how to conceive through anal sex, he prayed for Jesus to cure lesbians who had done ‘filthy things’, he warned Christians that gays would soon force them to like anal sex and bestiality, he told parents to treat their gay son like a drug addict, and he compared gay wedding to man-dog marriages.
Pat, we hope you seriously consider retiring in January 2016!
5. The Entire Kardashian Clan
No explanation necessary!
6. Martin Shkreli
“Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, is widely considered the most hated (former) CEO in 2015 after he raised the price of Daraprim, a drug that helps both AIDS and cancer patients battle parasitic infections, from $13.50 a tablet to $750 a tablet.
After the world lambasted him for the outrageous price spike, he announced he would lower the price but ultimately changed his mind after the media turned their attention to Donald Trump.
Shkreli was arrested earlier this month for securities fraud, proving once again that Karma is a real bitch!
7. Homophobic Hypocrite of the Year, Josh Duggar
Back in May, Josh Duggar, the oldest son of reality TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting family, resigned from his position as executive director of the anti-gay hate group Family Research Council’s lobbying arm after apologizing for his “inexcusable” actions as a teen when he sexually abused five underage girls, including family members.
“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” Josh told PEOPLE in his statement. “I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.” (read more here)
Duggar was exposed as a hypocrite a second time, when it was discovered he had been paying for an account on cheating site Ashley Madison from February 2013 to May 2015. Duggar released a statement: “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife…The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.”
8. ‘Kill The Gays’ Rally Attendees: Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal
Republican presidential hopefuls Senator Ted Cruz, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, attended the “National Religious Liberties Conference” hosted by radical right-wing pastor Kevin Swanson in Des Moines, Iowa last month. All three candidates have expressed their extreme opposition to gay marriage.
Swanson, who has previously called for death to gays, said: “There are instances in which both the Old and New Testament speak to the matter with unbelievable clarity,” Swanson told the audience. “There’s not to be any debate about it…. You know what that sin is – it’s the sin of homosexuality…. In fact in Romans 1 Paul affirms that this particular sin is worthy of death, The Old and New Testament, I believe both speak with authority and we ought to receive it.”
Although Cruz, Huckabee, and Jindal are not directly responsible for the extreme hatred that Swanson spewed at the conference, their very presence at an event he organized and hosted stands as a tacit approval of his message.
Watch a clip of Swanson stating his belief that the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, declares that the punishment for homosexuality is to be death:
