Colton Haynes Serves A Fierce ’50s Housewife’ Drag For Vanity Fair Cover

Actor and model Colton Haynes, who is no stranger to dressing up in drag, has stepped into the shoes of a 1950s housewife for a gender-bending shoot with Tyler Shields, via Vanity Fair.

The 27-year-old Teen Wolf and Arrow star appears alongside model Emily Bett Rickards for the shoot, which will also appear in Shields’ new photography book, entitled Provocateur.

Haynes, who you might remember appeared to come out in an online post earlier this month, is pictured holding a cigarette while donning a blonde wig and vintage dress.

“The interesting thing about the vintage dress we used is the cuts they used to use fit him so well,” Shields told Vanity Fair about Haynes and the shoot. “It was when we were talking about shooting Colton in the vintage women’s suit that the idea to shoot Colton and Emily in each other’s outfits came up. I think it speaks a lot to the time we are in right now as androgyny is a two-way street.

Shields noted that the friendship between Haynes and Rickards made it “very easy” for them to push the boundaries during the shoot. “They were not afraid to give me everything they had,” he said.

“With Colton and Emily it was perfect. You could really feel they knew each other and trusted each other, and that was amazing.”
