Ellen Welcomes The ‘Little Big Shot’ Bullied For Wearing Makeup

Reuben de Maid’s star just keeps rising.

After shining on NBC’s Little Big Shots, the 12-year-old appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week. Sadly, however, part of his visit included sharing the story of how he was bullied for wearing makeup.

The Welsh lad first wowed the audience with his take on “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going”. But what really has people talking is the vulnerability he showed in sharing his experience with bullying.

“In my drama group, I used to get hit, punched and kicked,” he explained. “I tried to brush it off, but brushing it off just doesn’t work. So I stood up to them.”

Even after the horrible treatment he endured, de Maid still loves his makeup and has big plans for that love in the future.

“I’d love to obviously be onstage, but I also want to have my own makeup brand,” he said.

Of course, everyone’s favorite talk show host just adored the boy.

“Good for you for not stopping being who you are. That’s really tough,” she said.
