Nearly two decades after the Connor clan signed off the air, ABC has announced that Roseanne is returning to the network that made them household names.
“We’re rebooting Roseanne,” ABC president Channing Dungey confirmed Tuesday on a conference call with reporters.
The eight-episode continuation “is planned for the 2017-2018 midseason,” he added.
ABC officially called it a “reboot,” but it’ll have most (if not all) of the original cast members, and it’s set to be a present day story. As we told you previously, Roseanne Barr, John Goodman (Dan, who’s now alive) and Sara Gilbert (Darlene) are already booked for the new season. Also returning are Laurie Metcalf (Jackie) and Michael Fishman (D.J.).
